A French coffee legend. A citrus turn. NOIR is French for “black” — and TAILS’s first coffee-based cocktail, after a line of tea-based ones: from tea to coffee, a new chapter for TAILS. It is inspired by the 19th-century story of the Mazagran, when soldiers in North Africa stretched their coffee with cold water, and citrus was later added in France.
Black coffee brings the depth, while orange and grapefruit brighten the edges. Cointreau adds a lift of orange liqueur, and the rum lends a gentle warmth underneath — dark and bright, side by side.
Crafted with: Rum infused with orange and grapefruit, Cointreau and black coffee. Serve: Chilled, over ice, or topped with tonic or soda.
